St James has been a prominent part of the townscape of St Peter Port for over 200 years and provides a dignified focal point for the Grange. St James is now run as a Guernsey registered charity and a company limited by guarantee by a Board and an advisory Council. It provides Guernsey with a unique and versatile venue for concerts and events covering a broad range of interests for both residents and visitors, as well as a function centre for the business community.
The Whittaker Hall has long been the home of classical concerts in Guernsey. However, since 2018, the venue has undergone extensive works and turned itself into a top class, modern music venue, with a full lighting set up and JBL Harman PA System unrivalled in the Channel Islands.
The Café, at the top of St James, boasts some of the best views over St Peter Port and the neighbouring islands. With a fully stocked bar, a professional kitchen and cosy atmosphere, it has proven itself as one of Guernsey’s most intimate venues, perfect for live music, get togethers, client receptions or private dining experiences, and anything else you can dream up.
